This is our new favorite waffle recipe. Madhuram from Eggless Cooking posted a really delicious waffle recipe that is even gluten free as well as vegan. We wanted a savory waffle this time so used her suggestions at the bottom of the page.

I made the version using AP flour as well as cornmeal and the buckwheat (so ours was not gluten free). As suggested, I cut back the baking powder and the sugar. These were delicious waffles. The recipe made 2½ double waffles (or 5 single). We are looking forward to having more savory waffles with this recipe and we’ll also have a couple of sweet ones as well when the summer weather finally rolls around and we can use some of our fresh berries from the garden.
